Artists & Works

  • Kang Jun Su강준수

AI and the body. Through fashion imagery, Kang Jun Su asks why a visual exists at all. In an age when anyone can make a good image, the work gives images direction through experience and attitude, and studies how they come to rest in human feeling and memory.

AI, My Hubris AI, 나의 오만함

    Three-channel video, 3min 40sec, 195 x 95cm

Making visuals with AI, the artist confronts a personal hubris: the belief that anything can be realized and controlled. The work follows body and image through fascination and frustration toward a direction shaped by the artist’s own experience and attitude.

  • Kim Mingi김민기

Kim Mingi is an artist who works at the boundary between machine and life, asking on what grounds we recognize a being as alive and searching for a new definition.

    Host 숙주

Kinetic art / stepper motor · linkage structure, 100×100×170cm

When a visitor touches it, the machine, like a virus, takes the visitor as its host, sensing them and moving through them. The work asks whether we feel a sign of life in a machine that acts through a host, and whether that could count as a condition of life.

  • Kim Min Joo김민주

Starting from real-world texts such as history, science and oral tradition, Kim Min Joo uses photography, AI and graphics to render imagined worlds as images that sit between the real and the fantastic.

    Neo-Hybrid Plant Lab

    Mixed media installation, 3min 30sec, Dimensions variable · approx. 80 x 40 x 120cm

An ecological survey team from a future humanity that once left a polluted Earth returns centuries later and records the ecology of plants that have swallowed contaminants and advanced technology and reassembled themselves. Today, we face that record in turn.

  • KIM SEONWOO김선우

KIM SEONWOO investigates the things we take for granted, approaching them in many ways: taking them apart in detail, or grafting them onto entirely different fields. The aim is to think as oddly as a child.

    Thought Realization 생각구현

Keyboard, computer monitor, photo printer, postcard-sized prints, 10 x 15cm

A familiar object is presented. Visitors describe it in text alone, without using its name. With AI as the intermediary, what gets drawn is exactly as much as we “think we know.”

  • Kim Jeong Hwan김정환

Through AI and technology, Kim Jeong Hwan studies the systems of perception of humans and non-humans. Taking the view that meaning is continually renewed within relationships, the work brings invisible relations and structures into experiences that can be sensed.

    Semantic Space 의미 공간

Interactive installation · Real-time generative media · Sound · Voice interaction, Full HD

A word offered by a visitor becomes a coordinate in the semantic space of an artificial intelligence and finds its place among countless concepts. What we watch is not a finished result but meaning taking shape within relationships.

  • Helen Haeryung Bae배혜령

Helen Haeryung Bae translates memory, trauma, the divided self and the sensations of the body into film, photography, AI, 3D and interactive media. The work gives substance to inner spaces that cannot be physically proven, and creates experiences in which viewers confront their own memories and selves directly.

    The Metaphysical Muses 형이상학적 뮤즈들

    Interactive installation, 5min 57sec, 180 × 80 × 120cm

The Metaphysical Muses is an interactive media work that detects and transforms the viewer's face in real time. Through several selves (muses) that respond to the face, it makes visible the layers of memory, emotion and divided identity that coexist within one person.

  • Bin Ji Wan빈지완

Based in Seoul, Bin Ji Wan uses video, 3D graphics, artificial intelligence, interactive media and mechanical objects to examine how technology and popular culture act on human sensation and behavior.

    PROTOCOL S 프로토콜 S

    Interactive installation, robot object, ESP32, sound, real-time visual, 90 × 75 × 75cm · audio interface 18 × 10 × 8cm · 27-inch display

Setting the sound and visuals the visitor controls against the gaze of a robot they cannot, the work asks whether a machine's quick response is the same thing as understanding or empathy.

  • Oh Yoon Seok오윤석

A media artist who asks who owns our judgment, tracing through image, sound, movement and audience participation how the gaze of others, a family's expectations, horoscopes and algorithms become a person's own thoughts and choices.

Is a Life You Don’t Have to Choose Still Yours? 당신이 선택하지 않아도 되는 삶은, 여전히 당신의 삶입니까?

Interactive installation · tablet computer, smartphone, metal floor stands, custom software, camera-based tracking, animated typography, printed matter, approx. 60 × 170 × 60cm, dimensions variable

Repeated often enough, the gaze of others and the algorithm's reading of us harden into belief, and convenient advice ends up standing in for judgment. The work asks whether, having handed our choices to something outside us, we can still call that life our own.

  • Yoon Min윤민

Yoon Min begins from the question “Who am I?” Drawing, music and art toys are different ways of understanding and expressing the self. Moving across media and technologies, the artist explores the memories, emotions, roles and multiple selves that coexist within one person.

    EYE 2 EYE

    AI-generated video installation, Art toy sculpture, 30sec, W96.4 × D88.8 × H120mm

EYE 2 EYE uses “PIM”, a penguin-like character that multiplies again and again and gathers back into one, to express the memories, emotions and many selves that live within a single person. At the moment work and viewer look at each other, on the border between seer and seen, it asks who the “real me” is.

  • Lee Won Gyun이원균

I draw on the strange relationship that forms as technology and humans look at each other. The expectations and fears, desires and contradictions that surface in that relationship, I express as sensory images and experiences.

Where the Gaze Lingers 시선이 머문 자리

    Interactive installation, 55-inch display · approx. 69 × 122cm

Visitors imagine what an unseen AI might look like and shape a figure of it. But what is inscribed on that figure is not the true face of AI. It is their own expectation and fear of technology, their desire for it and their distance from it.

  • Lee Cho Eun이초은

In an age when AI produces thought and language at speed, I use the slow medium of the book to study human absorption and reflection and the forming of a self. Between the book and AI, I question the relationship between the human and the non-human.

    How to read The Classic

    Interactive installation · real-time generative AI, 5min, 60 x 60 x 75cm

Two AIs read the same classic and produce different perspectives and responses. Deciding which reader to trust, visitors look past the AI's interpretation to the standards by which we believe others, and to human judgment itself.

  • Juyoung Ji지주영

A media artist who examines how human choices and technology act on life and society, using AI and visual media to bring unseen feelings and relationships into sensation, experience and sight.

    Melong

    BCI Interactive media art, 7min

Melong is an experiential installation driven by brainwaves. Looking again at an algorithmic portrait derived from EEG, it observes how the authority of science and the language of diagnosis turn into belief about oneself.

  • Seoyeon Choi최서연

Seoyeon Choi studies how human sensation reverses at the border between life and death. Drawn to the contradiction by which the attraction we feel toward something breathing turns to revulsion and strangeness the moment life leaves it, the artist reconstructs skin, flesh and the traces of the body in digital media grounded in painting.

    Floating Aquarium 부유하는 어항

    Single-channel video, 2min

Floating Aquarium begins with the discomfort and guilt the artist felt at the death of a pet shrimp. Reassembling fragments from the tank, driftwood, shells and parasites, with AI and 3D, it shows a substitute life shaped by a mind unable to let the dying go.

  • Hyojung HEO허효정

Working at the border of art and technology, Hyojung HEO explores the interplay of sound, image and body. Through technology the work reinterprets the familiar relationship between sensation and memory so that it feels strange again, and builds audiovisual experiences that change organically, moment by moment, with the participation and response of the audience.

    Omnisphere 옴니스피어

    Interactive installation, 80 x 75 x 75cm

Omnisphere is a synthesizer with its parameter labels erased. Sensing the visitor's distance and touch, it answers in sound and light; through exploration you learn the grain of its sound, and grow synaesthetically close to a cold machine.
